Most large company that produce goods and services have no direct contact with their ultimate customers, the consumers who pick their products up off of supermarket shelves, in Target or any retail store. It’s all rather impersonal and at a distance. The problem these large companies have is that they must know what consumers think to improve existing products and start new ones.
To solve this problem they hire experts in marketing research to get answers for them. The market researchers use surveys to measure consumer opinion. Thousands of such surveys are being made online every day. So how do they get “volunteers” to take the time to answer all those surveys? They make it worth their while by paying survey participants for their time and opinions.

All right, great! So how do you get in? How do you start? How, exactly do you get paid to do surveys.
Well, to get paid you have to participate by filling out survey questionnaires. To get started you must first be invited to participate. To get invited you need to get your name, contact info and demographic info (age, gender, zip code, etc.) on file with the survey making people, the ones who handle the mechanics of sending out the surveys and tabulating the results.
There are over 700 of these survey makers in the U.S. and over 3000 worldwide. Some are better than others. Some are a LOT better! About 20% are top level, that only offer legitimate paid online surveys that pay well, pay on time and respect your privacy. The next 40% are second level, don’t pay as well but are still O.K. The lower 40% will just waste your time.
