Some individuals may not realize that you need to register first before you have the ability to vote in the State of Florida. To signup to vote in Florida, you’ll need to follow these steps:

To begin with, determine whether you are able to vote in Florida. A person:

Must be a US citizen, Must be a resident of the State of Florida, Must be at least 18 years old(pre-registration to vote is allowed if you are 16 years old), Must NOT be judged as mentally incapacitated, Must NOT have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored, Must produce a valid existing Florida drivers license or ID card, or Must provide the last four digits of your SSN if you do not have a Florida drivers license or ID card. In lieu of these items you are required to check the space indicated on the registration form as NONE.

For those who meet the requirements, you’ll then need to complete a Florida voter registration application. Complete the Voter Registration Application. Complete all fields. You can opt to mail or deliver by hand the application to any Supervisor of Elections office in the state, the DMV, a registration agency, an armed forces government agency, or the Division of Elections office.

Many people often question whether they need to find a florida public notary to notarize the application. As of the date of this article, notarizing isn’t a necessity. If this is a new registration application in Florida, the date the finished application is postmarked or hand delivered to a drivers license office, a voter registration company, an armed forces recruitment office, the Division of Elections, or the office of any supervisor of elections in the state is going to be your registration date. You are required to be registered not less than 29 days before you can vote in an election. If the application is complete and you are certified as a voter, a voter information card shall be mailed to you. Remember to carefully check the application. If the info you provide is not accurate, you can be convicted of a felony of the third degree and fined up to$ 5, 000 and/or imprisoned for as much as five years.
