Let’s face it – it’s easy to feel picked on if you’re serious about portion control. In fact, eating the right portion size is one of the hardest things about dieting. You can spend hours, or even days, reading all the available literature about the right foods to eat.

But will you lose weight if you eat too much, even too much of the right foods? Unfortunately, no.

In fact, reading to find exactly the right diet can actually be kind of fun. Authors of most diet books put a lot of effort into making the whole process seem do-able. They want you to succeed, just as much as you do.

But what these authors can’t overcome is the feeling of being picked on when you sit down at the table with food sitting in front of you that you can’t eat. You put a small portion on your plate, and when you’re finished the other members of your family are reaching for seconds – but you know that’s forbidden for you. That feeling that you’re not being treated fairly (by yourself, no less) is one of the reasons that so many diets fail.

Author Jonni Good figured out a way to make portion control easy. She realized that it’s almost impossible to turn down a larger helping of your favorite food when it’s offered during a meal – but it’s easy to serve yourself just the right amount if you use her simple easy-does-it once-a-month cooking system. If you fill 20 or 30 meal-sized containers at one time, and really load them up with delicious low-calorie, filling veggies, all the will-power is taken care of for you in advance of every meal.
