If you heed the advice of the acne experts, they’ll tell you that the first thing you need to do in order to get rid of your acne is to modify your diet and develop better hygiene habits. Then they hype their over-the-counter products, creams and lotions that will give you lightening fast results for your condition. But the problem is that it is successful in “many cases”, but not all people. Many people who try the products endure side effects or even get allergic reactions. So it’s often better to try proven home remedies for curing acne that work effectively and have a greater success rate. They are almost always cheaper and don’t require a doctors prescription.

Let’s see if we can find some ways to get rid of acne using home treatments.

If you are a person with oily skin, a good homemade acne treatment is to use oatmeal masks on your face. apply an oatmeal and water paste for 15-20 minutes twice per day for the best results. What happens is that the mask will dry up and absorb excess sebum oil hair follicles. When you are finished make sure to rinse your face with cold water.

Here’s another home acne treatment that is extremely successful. It involves using honey and apples. This treatment uses grated apple, blended together with 4 teaspoons of honey. This mix will be the paste you use on the acne. Wear it for about a quarter of an hour. Once done remove the paste and rinse with warm water. Repeat two or three times each week for the most successful results.
