The question of the best time to exercise is a fascination subject for one reason. Researchers have suggested that 6pm is the optimal time for exercising. Your body’s rhythms, lung functions and temperatures not to mention hormone levels are most receptive to exercise at this time. Because of busy lifestyles we often end up needing to work out in the morning instead. There are surveys that have been performed to support that statement. Morning workouts tend to be our norm because of convenience. Some will choose a break or lunch time workout. See below for some interesting points about the best time to exercise.
Please remember, ahead of embarking on any exercises routine, remember to check with your family doctor first. Commence training twice a week for half-hour, and little by little build up your training frequency and intensity level. After a few months, you should be able to work out 3-4 times every week for a maximum of sixty minutes each workout. Any more than this will quite simply be counter productive and too much stress on your central nervous system. Aim to include things like heavy dumbbell set to your exercise programme at least once each week.
Some of often cited reasons for exercising during the day include essentially positive benefits for the person doing it. Even a ten minute break can offer an opportunity for a power walk. If your breaks are unscheduled then you have that much more convenience in your exercise time. As the day progresses, your body actually becomes more acclimated to activity and responds better to exercise. You will be in a better mindset if your body is ready for the exercise you force upon it.
If your schedule changes frequently you will have more of a challenge figuring out a good time for your workout. When you work nights you have the choice of in the morning after work or just before you go to work.
Regular exercise is very important and you should do it on a regular basis. Sort out your schedule and you can figure out what works best for you. I have done this and I have seen others do it as well so I know that can also.
Whenever possible move your workouts to late afternoon. There are of course a number of reasons that are quite compelling. Just one of which is research shows we are physically more capable in late afternoon. We also tend to have higher endurance later. This time of day is best because our muscles are already firing at full bore making us less prone to injury. But it also depends on what your fitness program is, but no matter what it is best to stick to the later-in-the-day time frame. So it’s up to the individual to determine the best time to exercise. Be sure to consider the type of exercise you will be doing, as well. Then make a plan and stick with it.
