How about a stomach exercise you can do while watching TV or sitting in front of a computer at work. This is an exercise that will tighten your abs in a dramatic way in just a few short weeks. It’s not uncommon for people to lose 2 to 3 inches in that time. The stomach vacuum is just that exercise. It’s a long forgotten stomach flattening exercise that can be done just about at any time and anywhere.

The main muscle that is engaged by this exercise is the transverse abdominal muscle which runs horizontally underneath you oblique muscles. The transverse abdominis muscle is basically what holds everything in, so by doing this one simple exercise you are tightening the abs and shrinking the waistline at the same time. Another reason to strengthen the transverse ab muscle is that it helps to eliminate lower back pain by stabilizing the spine and pelvis areas.

So what is the stomach vacuum? It’s pretty much what it sounds like. If you have ever sucked your stomach in for any reason, then you were basically doing the stomach vacuum. Now to actually do this stomach exercise correctly you need to suck your tummy in and picture pulling your belly button up and to the back toward your spine. Try to pull it in just as far as you can go and remember to breathe. It doesn’t matter if your sitting, kneeling or standing on your head. The stomach vacuum can be done in any position.

To start with try and hold it for 15 seconds then relax for about a minute. Now repeat it 2 more times. Over time you will want to increase the length of time you hold the vacuum position and increase the number of sets you do as well. Another option with this particular tummy flattening exercise is just to do it through out the day. Since you are not noticeably moving around you can sneak a set or two in at any time.

Do these everyday over the next couple of weeks and you will be absolutely amazed by the results.

Before each showing of your home to potential buyers, it is important to make a good first impression. Be sure your front entry has a sparkling door knocker and door knobs, and that front door and porch are clean and free of clutter.

Once inside your home should smell inviting so bake the quick and easy break and bake cookies or brownies, or put a drop of vanilla on the top of a light bulb for a welcome aroma. You can make the home seem more inviting by installing higher wattage light bulbs and opening all the window treatments to let the light flood your home.

Buyers want to visualize themselves and their lifestyle in their new home, so to make your house more neutral, please distance yourself emotionally. This means putting away all family photos, awards, etc that are specific to your family. Also removing excess clutter by renting a storage unit or having a garage sale will make your home appear larger and more inviting.

You may want to host an open house while you still have furniture in your home, so buyers can visualize furniture placement with the layout and space available. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to disclose any past or potential issues that may effect the value and continued desirability of your advertised property. Real estate law varies from state to state, and some require you to reveal everything from a leak in the faucet to a neighbor who may be a nuisance. Be sure you are aware of the disclosure laws for your area.

As an additional incentive to attract an offer on your home, you might consider offering a one-year warranty to the new buyer. This often gives them the peace of mind to proceed with buying your home. When a potential buyer starts looking for a property, they look online first. A recent survey shows that 82% start with an internet search, due to the comfort and convenience. Only 12 % find the home of their dreams in a newspaper ad. It is important to let people know your home is for sale!

Many buyers prefer a video tour or virtual tour to eliminate the homes that won’t fit their needs, and to save their valuable time. Don’t appear too anxious or a potential buyer may think they can get a steal! Did you know surveys taken by the National Association of Realtors prove that most buyers seek out a for sale by owner when they are looking for a bargain, and automatically offer 10 percent under the seller’s asking price? Don’t offer too much information about your needs and plans- a buyer could use that information to justify a low offer.

A good marketing plan is essential to selling your home. Find a dedicated professional in Real Estate that knows how to stage your home to sell. Better agents offer advice on furniture placement and redesign of your home to maximize the chances of a quick and profitable sale. With each inquiry on your home, your chance of selling it soon increases.

A basic guide for beginner electric guitars.
Lets face it, shopping for an electric guitar or any guitar for that matter is a tedious and time consuming process, and this is especially true for beginner’s electric guitar. What makes one guitar different from another? Is a guitar that costs $1000 better than one that is $500 or$100?

You only get what you pay for.
It can be a daunting task especially for beginners looking at all the different electric guitar models trying to make a decision as to what to buy. And when you add amps, effects, and everything else involved you end up saying to yourself, “Maybe I don’t need all that stuff.”

Well now, what do I REALLY need.

Let me just say for the record that I’m far from an equipment expert. There are plenty of “gear heads” out there that get something new every month. These guys always have the latest and greatest in guitars, but I find these guys can hardly play a lick because they’re too busy buying all their gear!! I’ve always been a “just let me play” kind of guy.  But it’s always nice to have friends like this so you can go over to their place and try out all their cool stuff.

This page has the beginner in mind so if you’ve been playing for a while you’re probably going to think “well, duh!” But my goal here is to discuss what you need and your different options. Please keep in mind that everything below is solely my opinion.

What kind of beginner electric guitar should you buy and how much should you spend?
If you’re a beginner just starting I don’t recommend spending any more that $500, if that much. You can usually find something to learn on for $2-300 or even cheaper at a flea market or online. You don’t need anything more than that, especially if you lose interest. I’ve only gone through 3 guitars in my life, the first being a cheap Dean that I got for Christmas out of a Sears catalog. I then got an Ibanez 560 Frank Gambale model that I ordered from Suncoast music for Christmas when I was 16 or 17. I had that one for a long time up until 4 years ago when I went guitar shopping for the first time and got a custom made Ibanez S-Series that listed for $1500. By this time, I was advanced enough that I justified paying that much for something good.

The point is don’t spend too much money right now unless you are seriously interested in the instrument. I would focus more on playing and getting better than getting all the different gears.

Its tough to make good recommendations but I’ve always been partial to Ibanez.  But, there are a lot of good guitars and companies out there. The best thing I can recommend anybody looking for an electric guitar is to go to the store and play different models. This is the ONLY way you can figure out what works best for YOU. Then you can start haggling the sales clerk at the store about the price.

Obviously, buying a beginner electric guitars online will give you significant discounts as well as special deals. You can find lots of great bargains here. Here are some great starter packages.    Any one of the above packages would be perfect for a beginner, whether you want to play electric, acoustic, or the electric/acoustic combo!  And the best thing about I bought one of my Yamaha acoustics from them and I’m quite happy with the customer support, and I also received it in a couple of days.  I’ve since bought a couple other guitars and a Pandora PX4 and I’ve been 100% satisfied with every purchase.

What about buying beginner electric guitars amplifiers?
This is something that you have to go to the store and try for yourself before you make a decision. I have a Crate GT-200 that I played my Ibanez through at the store when I went shopping that day 4 years ago.  For amps you most definitely get what you pay for. Mesa Boogie are the best amps I’ve heard, but I never could afford them. Depending on your budget, try to make the best decision based on quality vs. your personal budget. Again you will get significant discounts online, but you will definitely want to hear how your electric guitar sounds with the amp you’re looking at.

What else do you need?

If you have a beginner electric guitar and amplifier you’ll need a few other things. Some of them are optional…and mostly a matter of preference.

The most commonly accepted method of choosing a low cost electric guitar is to find an instrument with good quality wood, and at least reasonable workmanship. Guitar manufacturers tend to cut corners with cheaper guitars, by using cheaper pick-ups, and hardware, but these are all upgradeable parts.

Trying to avoid catching cold and flu this season?

Probably so, if you’re anything like the rest of us. But are there any truly effective cold and flu prevention methods that could keep you well this winter?

Yes, there are – from simple hand washing to taking the right supplement. Here are the general principles most everyone is familiar with:

  • Wash your hands often – We all pick up germs and viruses on pencils, doorknobs, computer keyboards, etc. Wash hands often and scrub for at least 30 seconds to wash them away.
  • Eat well by eating a balanced diet including plenty of fruits, vegetables, natural fiber and sufficient protein.
  • Avoid sweets and processed foods. Eating too many sweets creates imbalances in your body, which make you more succeptible to bugs.
  • Stay warm – wear appropriate clothing and shoes to keep warm. Be sure to keep your head and ears covered outdoors.
  • Stay fit – exercise to keep your heart and body healthy, in good shape and to burn calories.
  • Get enough sleep – your body needs to rest and rejuvenate. Insufficient sleep strains the brain and weakens your immunity.

The above steps are all important and necessary, but they may not be enough. Are there additional steps you can take to increase your chances of avoiding cold and flu? There certainly are. Here are a few:

  • When you can’t wash your hands, use a hand purifier. But you don’t want one loaded with chemicals and artificial fragrances that can absorb through your skin. Use a natural product instead. Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier promotes good hygiene without the use of water or toxic ingredients. It’s a great way to get the natural, germ-fighting cleansing power of the antimicrobial essential oil in a handy, carry-with-you-anywhere bottle.
  • Bolster your immunity with a nutritional supplement like Inner Defense – the total health system protection that reinforces systemic defenses in the immune system, creates unfriendly terrain for yeast/fungus and promotes healthy respiratory function. Its potent blend of oregano, thyme, and Thieves essential oils are rich in thymol, carvacrol, and eugenol for powerful immune support.
  • Diffuse antimicrobial essential oil – Diffusing the right essential oil can not only decrease your exposure to cold and flu bugs in the air, but it can strengthen your immunity to them.
  • What essential oil is best? Studies conducted at Weber State University show that the Thieves essential oil blend has a 99.96 percent success rate against airborne bacteria. You’ll find more information about Thieves on the diffusing page mentioned above.

There is no need to feel helpless this season – or to spend the season sneezing and coughing. Pay attention to the general principles listed above and try the additional steps for natural and effective cold and flu prevention.

Many people are choosing a Hawaii wedding as their destination of choice. The awesome scenic beauty and gorgeous beaches are compelling settings for romance, and there’s a wide variety of venues from Kauai weddings, Big Island weddings, Maui weddings to nuptials on Oahu, Lanai and Molokai. There are plenty of choices for any taste and many are not nearly as expensive as you might think.

If you are planning a wedding in Hawaii be prepared for some extra planning. Making travel and hotel arrangements, obtaining a marriage license and finding a wedding officiant in a place that is not your home can prove to be a daunting experience. It would be a smart idea to research Hawaii wedding planners as one of the first steps in the planning of your event.

Such companies can complete virtually all the tasks without your physical presence. They’ll scout locations and get your approval via picture and video, and provide you with a full suite of options to choose from. They can prepare everything for your Hawaii wedding, including travel for everyone involved, and selection of professional services such as florists and camera operators.

Some wedding services offer attractively priced Hawaii wedding packages, but do some comparison shopping to find the best deal. The same is true for florist and photography services, which you may want to compare.

Deciding on which of the islands to have your wedding is hard only because there are so many wonderful choices. You can be married next to the lava fields of an active volcano, in Diamondhead Crater on Oahu, a traditional church on the Big Island or a beachside wedding on Hanalei Beach or Shipwreck Beach on the Garden Island of Kauai. Every island has something special to offer.

Start-up grants can help benefit small or home business in many ways. Grants for home businesses are offered by federal or state agencies and other organizations. There are also offices such as small business development offices to help the small business grant seeker with advice on how to get grants. The grants for small businesses or home business are usually dollars that do not have to be repaid and can be used for anything from start-up expenses to inventory or construction expenses. You will find as you discover government grant applications that there are many issues and options to consider.

Using start up business grants to benefit small businesses are sometimes unknown to the new home business entrepreneur. They might not know these small business grants are available or they may think they all have to be repaid. Not true. Thousands of government dollars are given away each year to help small businesses through their start up process to ensure their success. Others think these start up business grants are only for rural or minority-owned businesses. This is also not true. While there are specific start up business grants for rural and minority owned businesses, they are not the only ones out there.

Be careful when using third party services to help you get your grant. There are many very good services out there, but there are also many bad ones – stay away from government grant scams by doing your research first.

What are the requirements and how can a start up business grant really benefit my small home business you might ask? There are not as many requirements as you might think, nor will all of them require mounds of paperwork to obtain that small business grant. Here are some tips on how you too can benefit from small business start-up grants. First, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never owned a business before, or if you are a long-time business owner. Small businesses need help and government and state grants are available for the taking if you look in the right place.

These small business start-up grants can be used in every business area from starting up a daycare service to building your eBay business. Organizations that offer start up grants to help small businesses realize that people aren’t always able to get a bank loan or utilize personal funds. These organizations don’t want to see the small business owner fail and realize that small business are the backbone of the business industry today.

You will learn when applying for grants that most agencies that offer small business start up grants require an arm and a leg of work that you can’t tackle is simply not true. In fact, most agencies will help you through the grant process and offer seminars or effective ways to get your grant proposal noticed. Grant proposals firms are available, but not always necessary if you know what kind of things grant makers are looking for.

When you think about getting some golf clubs then the most common assumption is that the more expensive a club is the better – I mean that is what the expensive adverts tell us right? All the pros use expensive clubs so they must be the best? Wrong!

First of all, the clubs the pros use are possibly the WORST clubs that you could think of buying, why? Because they suit pros so if you aren’t one then they are not for you!. The kind of clubs that a pro uses are devoid of any of the extra design elements that give more forgiveness, they may not need the extras but I know I sure do.

For the normal level of player then the sweetspot is just going to be too small and your ball will end up in the trees somewhere when you slice and dice it. You need something which has extra weight added to the back corners and/or extra rigidity built into the face to give a larger sweetspot so the ball goes straight even when you hit it slightly off centre.

Another reason that more expensive is not always better is because we all like different setups, and if you think that buying a set of clubs from a top brand guarantees you will like them, then think again. There are certain things you need to consider, the weight of the club, the weight of the head, the shaft type, even how the shaft connects to the head, all of these things can affect the way you play and the feel of the club as you use it.

First of all you need to get yourself down to a golf shop to test out a few different types, get to a shop with a driving range attached and borrow some clubs to try out, try different weights and shafts and types, and find what you prefer, then head onto the internet and find some golf club recommendations like this Pinemeadow Command BK Driver Review or this Pinemeadow Xeon Titan Putter Review so you can find some great clubs.

The exact origins of Tai Chi are hard to tie down. There are many myths about its origins. One of those says that Taoist monk Chang San-feng was disturbed by the sounds of a snake and a crane fighting in his courtyard. He then built a style based around their movements.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of movement that coordinates your body and focuses on the cultivation of internal energy. It’s aim is to harmonize the mind, body and spirit hence, promoting both metal and physical well being through relaxation. It is often described as a type of meditation that combines deep breathing and movements that exact structual alignment. Correct practice appears rhythmical, effortless and in continuous flow and it can generate surprising power almost at odds with its gentle movements.

People who regularly practice Tai Chi become revitalized, relaxed, tolerant, stronger and healthier. Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and sexes because it does not rely on strength, force or speeds. It brings benefits in many areas.

Tai chi is derived from Chinese health and longevity practices, which were merged with a comprehensive system of self defence. In the past, much of Tai Chi was kept secret, but very gradually, knowledge of the art spread throughout China. Now at the start and end of every day in villages, towns, and cities all over Chinese Asia, people can be seen practicing the slow, graceful movements of tai chi in courtyards, squares and parks.

Tai chi came to the West during the 20th century largely due to the cultural revolution when many masters fled the country. Today, tai chi is found in almost all countries, and a huge number of people practice it regularly.

It requires a high degree of concentration and mental focus. The breathing is natural, sometimes involving deep breathing, and is carefully synchronised to your movements.

Tai Chi consists of soft, relaxed (usually) slow movements and is recognised as being good for stress, balance, blood pressure and general health. It is one of the one of the Chinese Internal martial arts (neijia). The others being Hsing-I, Ba Gua Zhang and Liuhebafa(Six Harmonies, 8 Methods).

Tai Chi appeals to a wide range of people and age ranges, (teens and 20′s up to 80′s & 90′s) but it is not common for the art to be taught to children as the training can be slow for their tastes. There are a number of forms specifically targetted at the over 50′s and health problems such as Arthritis.

With the growing popularity of high definition TV, all the new TV’s and electronics will have to comply with HD specifications. In plain english, that means that if you want true HD video, you would have to acquire a lot of the old video devices, including the analog TV, DVD player, and cables.

And now it’s no longer a easy matter of having any ordinary link, but the HDMI cable has to follow requirements. For one, not all Monster cable are capable of 1080p video. Though 720p does qualify as high-definition video, a lot of the new video sources are capable of higher resolutions, like 1080p and up to 2560×1600 pixels in size. Although the standards are more advanced, and more technical, there is an emphasis to simplify the HDMI standards so that the ordinary user would not be lost in the technical terms.

As high-definition video changes, HDMI also evolves with it. HDMI is a very big part of the system. The HDMI cable has to follow the standards to allow the additional features of the HD devices. Although there are features of HDMI which have not changed since 2002, it is projected that sooner or later, even these would show some improvements. Audio, for example has always been at 8 channel support. But since this is still the current state of technology, it is not expected to change much in the foreseeable future, or until widespread use of 16 channels.

Having enough energy to make it through the day has always been an issue for me. Even when I was in high school I would come home tired knowing that I would have an evening of homework to get through before going to bed. I was taking vitamins, walked to school, had gym class and eventually even started running for track and field. My Mom saw to it that I was eating my vegetables so I was doing all the things that are supposed to give you more energy and keep you healthy. It just wasn’t working.

As an adult this lack of energy still kept me worn down and I started looking for a better answer. To my surprise I found it in a large green glass bottle with a label of a man blowing a conch, called TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. How a little green fruit grown in the French Polynesians could make such a difference is beyond me but it wasn’t long after drinking TAHITIAN NONI® Juice that I really noticed the difference. It’s so simple too – just 1 oz in the morning and 1 oz before dinner. I have trouble swallowing big vitamins, so drinking a liquid has been great for me.

Best of all, the amount of colds and flues have gone down to almost zero. It’s a keeper in our household!

Now I’m doing the things I’ve wanted to do but was too tired like gardening, working out at the gym, going for walks even bike riding. It doesn’t surprise me that athletes drink TAHITIAN NONI ® Juice for energy and endurance. If it works this way for me, it would work great in a finely tuned body.

Hmmmm…..maybe I’ll take up snowboarding this year!
