The auto industry has suddenly decided we need hybrids and electric cars. Well, electric cars are useless for most people, and don’t help preserve our reserves of oil, nor do they reduce CO2 emissions. Why? Because the production of electricity from fossil fuels is inefficient, and more energy is lost as the electricity is sent round the country.

On top of that, the energy is then put into a battery – more energy lost – and then is used to drive the car. A pretty silly idea, unless you want nuclear power, which is one more way that the world will become uninhabitable in the future.

So what is worth having? Bio-fuels made from non-food sources and fast-growing crops that cannot be used for anything else. Bio-fuels, methanol and diesel are suitable for high-performance cars.

The makers of supercars, exotic cars and sports cars are already designing their cars to run on bio-fuels, so their future can be assured.

We also need a new type of hybrid. No, not the Toyota Prius or Honda Insight because these cars have very large and heavy batteries, which will need replacing surprisingly quickly – in a few years. They are so expensive to buy and replace that many people will just junk their cars – they will be worth less than the cost of the batteries. No-one mentions that of course, because the idea of these hybrids and electric cars is to impress politicians.

The real hybrid that will work is one that has a fairly small electric motor and alternator between the engine and gearbox – it needs to be fairly small to go into front-drive cars. First, this can be used to start the car after it has been stopped automatically at traffic lights, for example, saving fuel.

Secondly, if there is a battery that is much larger than a normal car battery, but not so large as those in current hybrids, then the car can use that electricity to accelerate. It can also generate electricity under braking. In other words, the hybrid is an auxiliary, not intended for use as an electric vehicle in towns, but which will have much better fuel consumption than normal. This is here already on a new supercar power train. This system will become common in the next few years as the auto companies find ways of reducing CO2 emissions. Incidentally, the auto industry is a scapegoat in this matter, as most CO2 emissions come from factories and the production of fuels, etc.

You need an attention grabbing press release to generate interest in your new small business website provided by web design west midlands. An effective press release should encourage and convince your potential customers to visit your website and take action.

You can make your press release stand out by following just focussing on three aspects:

1. The headline must grab their attention and generate more interest The headline of your press release must be punchy and suggest the benefits of your service or products. Approximately only twenty per cent of people will read the rest of your press release after reading the headline, so make yours attention grabbing. It is also very important to use your main keyword in the headline, preferably near the beginning. This will increase your chances of getting your press release appropriately indexed by the search engines, particularly Google.

2. Look for an interesting angle

When launching a new small business website, stop and take a long look at your business activities and try to identify an interesting angle for your press release:

   – What is it about your company that is possibly different, perhaps even unique or exciting for your customers?

   – What makes your service or product different from your competitors?

   – Are there any topical news items or relevant trade events that you can link your press release to?

   – Make your press release read like a story capturing the imagination of your readers rather than a dry, factual account of what your business does and sells.

3. The structure must be logical

The structure is also important because press releases should be concise and to the point. Each word should serve a purpose, so cut out any waffle and edit ruthlessly. Following on after your headline you should create a subheading providing a bit more information but leaving your readers wanting more.

The first paragraph should contain all the vital information for the press release, and the rest of the text should simply expand those facts. Finally you may include a boilerplate with a short biography of your company and your contact details with the all important link to your website.

An impactive and interesting Press Release is just one of the many services offered by web design midlands.

Overview of Weight Watchers

The Weight Watches program got it’s start back in the 60′s by some friends who started to get together each week to discuss their weight loss struggles and victories. Over time the discussions grew and soon it became popular around the entire world. This diet program focuses on losing weight long term and it also focuses on keep the weight off as well. There are no harsh restrictions on what you can or can’t eat, but it teaches people to learn how to make the healthy choices in what they eat so they can lose weight and then keep the weight off for the years to come. Of course exercise is also encouraged, although it is not the main focus of the entire program.

Who Does Weight Watchers Work for Best?

This is a program that really works well for people who need some support when they are losing weight. It is also great for those who want to be eat anything that they want. There are not many limitations, which makes this a great diet plan for just about anyone today.

A Few Pros and Cons

Weight Watchers comes with quite a list of pros and cons that you should be aware of. It is important that you are aware of these pros and cons before you get started in the plan. So, here are some of the pros and cons that you should know about first.

- Pro #1 – Great for Long Term Weight Loss Goals – First of all, one of the main pros is that you’ll find Weight Watchers to be a great program for long term weight loss goals. It is actually a diet that you can stick to, so you’ll be able to reach the goals you are striving for.

There are weekly meetings that you go to where you get support and education that will help you as you work on losing weight. For many people, this is one of the most important parts of the diet that they love.

- Pro #3 – You Have Variety in Food Choices – While there are so many diets out there that really restrict the foods that you can eat, you’ll find that with Weight Watchers you can eat just about anything. There is great variety in food choice, so you’ll be less likely to get bored or tired of the diet and quit.

- Pro #4 – The Points Make it Easy – You’ll also find that the great point system that is used with this diet really makes it easy to keep track of what you are eating. Most people even find that it is a lot easier than having to keep track of calories.

- Con #1 – You Can’t Really Count Points Forever – However, on the con side, you’ll probably find that you can’t go on counting points for the rest of your life. This is only temporary for you and you’ll have to survive eventually without looking up the points in your little manual.

- Con #2 – You Have to Go to Meetings – While the meetings can be great for some, other people find that going to the meetings is actually a problem for them. They have to fit in these meetings into their busy schedule. Also, people who really are very sensitive about their weight may find this embarrassing as well.

- Con #3 – It Can Be Expensive – Probably one of the main cons to this diet is that it can be really expensive. It costs about $10-15 for each class and you also have to pay to join as well. So, over time this can really cost you quite a bit of money to get involved in it.

Food Do’s and Don’ts

When it comes to do’s and don’ts of food, there really are none for Weight Watchers dieting plan. You have to focus on the points that you are allowed to have each day, and make sure that you count the points for every single thing that you eat. However, you can pretty much eat about anything, as long as you remember that you have to count those points and you don’t go over your total points for the entire day.

Medical Community Opinions of the Diet

This is one weight loss program that is really well respected in the medical community today. It is one of the best plans according to medical experts, since it offers a well balanced and healthy way for people to lose weight and totally helps people to learn how to eat healthy and have a healthy lifestyle.

Twitter is contacted regularly by brands interested in sponsoring innovative experiences based on topics of interest. However, our focused commitment to Twitter itself means we don’t have much time or resources to build these interesting topical experiences. Twitter is becoming busier, but that just means you might have to be more thoughtful with how you use it. And to say that a blog community is more effective is missing the point. Twitter had promise so @jack, florian, and @noah went off to work on it.

Twitter still gets informed exactly when I post it. Twitter may well be affordable for them, especially if the investors get antsy enough over Twitter’s lack of revenue. Twitter users suggest new topics as well as sites and blogs to include on those topics. Many have gone so far as to suggest a topic and compile a collection of feeds for the topic.

Twitter can also be used to provide mini-updates for one-on-one clients. Twitter is trully a community based site that follows the needs of the people who are loyal to it. The Tweeps won’t let the spammers win! Twitter sends you an email when someone new follows you. Set up your email preferences to notify you when you have a new follower.

Twittering is an emerging new form of communication on the Internet that changes the expectations associated with other forms of communication and yet it’s fundamentally different than blogging. Twitter provides a platform for banter that blogging doesn’t and it’s available in so many places via IM, mobile text messaging, or the Web that it induces a different sort of behavior. Twitter users update their Twitter pages by texting their Tweets to the number 404040, but this number won’t cut it for international users. So, Twitter provides a series of international numbers that non-U.S. Twitter might only work in the College area. As those in high school or something would probably post things like $%#^@# and “you [bad word]“.

Twitter would be wise to acquire Tweetdeck now before someone else does, especially as it adds more social tentacles . Twitter is a popular “micro-blogging” service that allows you to send updates (up to 140 characters in length) via SMS, IM, the website, and third-party applications . It also has a handy feature which allows you to send direct (private) messages to your friends on Twitter. Twitter is a tool that allows users to send instant messages and to social network via short messages, also known as micro-blogs. Users can create Twitter messages, more commonly called tweets, through their Twitter pages, IMs, Facebook accounts, emails or text messages from their mobile phones.

Twittersations may happen in 140-character snippets, but relationships happen over time and space and various communication modes. Twitter, as with anything online, has become another “I want the most friends” which is a bloody great shame. I’ve got people following me, for absolutely no reason other than they want me to follow them and it’s ridiculous, it happens with everything and it annoys me a lot. Twitter users on the ground helped in compiling a list of the dead and injured. In addition, users sent out vital information such as emergency phone numbers and the location of hospitals that needed blood donations.

Twitter is also a smaller source of traffic than News Now , while Facebook sends over ten times as many visits to the category. Twittershare lets you share files that are 10 megabytes or less. Primarily for the iPhone, there’s also a web interface that is in beta, and Windows XP/Vista support is coming soon. Twitter will be gone in 1-2 years. This Twitter nonsense mania is for the kids.

Twitter is an amazing tool with which to communicate to everyone from friends to politicians. The best part is you can do this from the comfort of your own home or even on the go with your nifty mobile device such as the iPhone or Blackberry. Twitter gives you the ability to think at the speed of the Internet. Any bleeding edge thing you’re working on, you’ll find someone doing something similar. Twitter has been quick to patch the vulnerabilities, but the hackers have been known to launch new attacks that work around the countermeasures.

Twitter?s terrible for summing up anything more than a drive-by comment or, “Hey look at that,” and it’s worse yet for conversation or discussion. I don’t want Brian Williams’ tweet about world news any more than I want a three-word description of a sunset by Ernest Hemingway. Twitter’s one-to-one communication?or its ability to simulate it?is what makes the service different from its social networking predecessors. This element of conversation is also behind some corporate successes using the medium. Twitter.com continues to grow in popularity and importance in both the consumer and corporate worlds. No longer just a platform for friends to stay connected in real time, it has evolved into an important component of brand marketing.

Twitter has become an incredible tool not just for communication, but for improving your life. College students can use it to expand their social circle, promote their side business, keep their coursework organized, and more. Twitter is in its 4 round of funding and has generated $55 million in start up capital with making one dime. They are hoping to create a revenue model with Spark Capitals $35 million in investment They don?t have a monetization model and rumors state that Twitter is gearing up to charge commercial users a subscription fee. Twitter is fine for what it is. I actually believe twitter can make money (whether it can make enough money to justify it’s valuation is another story).

Twitter Tools needs to be able to look at the beginning of the tweet and identify if it’s a notification from your blog or not. Otherwise, Twitter Tools and Twitter could keep passing the blog posts and resulting tweets back and forth resulting in the ‘spinning fireball of death’ mentioned above.

Users can eavesdrop on traders and investors, or contribute to the conversation and build their reputation as savvy market wizards. The service takes financial related data – using Twitter as the content production platform – and structures it by stock, user, reputation, etc. Users of twitter don’t understand this and they don’t care.

Searching across the twittersphere means you can monitor any subject within Twitter. These additional columns automatically update so providing the user with a very effective dashboard of realtime information. Searched the comments above, but didn’t see any equivalent problem.

Facebook still boasts the largest following with 65.7 million in its ranks, but with Twitter growing in popularity and tailor made for mobile connectivity, the big boys better watch out. Facebook wouldn’t want to become the next MySpace, now would it? Facebook also plans on adding filters which include a general news feed and can filter further by friend lists and applications. Any type of content from the homepage will be shareable with friends. Facebook’s redesign gives them fewer reasons to try Twitter.

Whatever the reason, there are lessons for classroom and online teachers from these sites. Whatever you decide to do I’ll be waiting for the update.

Thanks for the tutorial and thanks for that template. That thing will come in handy for sure. Thanks for the good words. Thanks for a great video! I have heard a lot about twitter lately but wasn’t sure if I could use it for my business.

When you are thinking about taking a physician contract, it’s natural to be excited and to look forward to a long career. There can be pitfalls for the unwary, however, and here are some questions wich may help you avoid those pitfalls.

Q: Should I hire a lawyer to review my physician employment contract?

A: In general, yes. The choice of a lawyer is critical. Find someone well versed in medical contract law, as well as the state’s laws in which you will practice. Try to find an attorney recommended by someone else. Also, make sure the attorney has enough time to review the contract in a timely manner. Negotiations could be hampered by a slowed response time.

Q: If I am a resident, when should I decide upon accepting a position?

A: As a general rule, the earlier the better. The more time you have to work on license applications, hospital privileges, finding a new home and moving arrangements, the less stress you’ll encounter. Many hospitals recruit for summer positions in the fall and early winter. Don’t think all of the “good” physician jobs are taken by the end of winter. Physicians throughout the year because contract expirations can occur at any time. Don’t worry. Have confidence that the right position will be available.

Q: Who handles negotiations, me or my recruiter?

A: Whenever possible, your recruiter should handle negotiations for physician practice opportunities. Having a liaison reduces the potential for heated arguments between two parties. Keep in mind, professional recruiters regularly perform this task.

Before you go out on the road and have an exciting drive in your new car, you have to get good car insurance first. But do you know what auto insurance all about is?

Auto insurance is a type of insurance that consumers can purchase for truck, cars and other vehicles. It provides protection against losses incurred. Depending on the type of coverage purchased, buying auto insurance can protect you against the cost of repairing the vehicle following an accident. The cost of purchasing a new vehicle if it is stolen or damaged beyond economic repair and to the legal liability claims against the driver or owner of the vehicle following the vehicle causing damage or injury to a third party.

The risk associated in buying a new car is not fully covered by a comprehensive insurance. There is generally a period in which the remaining car payments exceed the compensation the insurer will pay for a destroyed vehicle, due to the sharp decline in value immediately following purchase. To protect the consumer on the market, GAP insurance was established in the early 1980’s. GAP protection was developed because of the escalating price of cars, extended term auto loans, and the increasing popularity of leasing.

Liability insurance covers claims against the policyholder and generally, any other operator of the insured vehicle, provided they do not live at the same address as the policyholder and are not specifically excluded on the policy. Those living at the same address must specifically be covered on the policy. Generally, liability insurance does not protect the policyholder if they operate any vehicles other than their own. You are just covered by another party’s policy if you drive a vehicle owned by that party.

Liability coverage also extended when you rent a car. But in most cases, comprehensive policies or full coverage may not be applied. It is because the insurance company does not want to assume responsibility for a claim greater than the value of the insured’s vehicle, assuming that a rental car may be worth more than the insured’s vehicle. But some states, it extends to rental cars. Most rental car companies offer insurance to cover damages to the rental vehicle. In some regions, the “Loss of Use” or the costs associated with not having access to the vehicle is also covered.

Now that you learn what is auto insurance is, it’s time to get an auto insurance deal!

If you are pondering the thought of building a model railroad you will need to decide what scale you want to model in. Model railroad scales are HO, S, Z, O, G and N scale, with HO being the most popular scale for model railroad layouts. HO Scale means that scale size objects such as model railroad scenery or rolling stock will be 1/87 the size of full scale.

The smaller model railroad scales are Z scale which is 1:220 and N scale which is 1:160. These scales are ideal when limited space is available for a model railroad layout If you have a lot of space you might select O scale with is 1:48 and easier to work with. Garden railroads use G scale which is 1:24.

It is very important that you plan your model railroad prior to building it. Your track plan should be laid out on a scale drawing before you start. Begin by laying out your roadbed using actual track to get the correct arc for the curves. After your roadbed is completed you can start laying the track followed by the track ballast.

Now you can have some real fun and begin your model railroad scenery. This is where you can be creative and use your imagination. Scenery can be added at your leisure. Some model railroaders never complete their model railroad layout because they are continually changing or adding to their buildings and scenery. Some base their model railroad layout on real towns and cities while some create fictional towns and lanscape features. Whatever your preference there are many good resources online such as how-to model railroad websites, model railroad software and model railroad books.

Yeast Infections or thrush are a bane to many people whatever their age or sex and one of the most annoying things is the way that they can keep reoccurring. Often it’s just tiny things that can trigger off yet another attack. Here are some tips to help keep the infections at bay.

If you’re asthmatic and need to use steroid inhalers as part of your treatment, always rinse your mouth out after using them and this will help you avoid oral thrush. Just a quickly swish of water round the mouth should do the trick.

Avoid heavily perfumed soaps when washing yourself. This applies to men who want to avoid male thrush as well as to women who are plagued by yeast infections. Although they smell nice such soaps have a tendency to alter the natural pH balance of the skin which can allow yeasts to multiply and start to spread.

If you’ve been prescribed antibiotics for any reason you are more likely to develop a yeast infection so try eating lots of natural, live yogurt while you’re taking your tablets to try and counteract their affects.

To avoid intertrigo make sure you keep skin fold areas dry as much as possible. Any place where skin is in contact with other skin is a potential problem area, especially on a hot day. Try and find an opportunity to pat (not rub) the excess moisture away as frequently as you can.

Disclaimer: Don’t forget to check with your doctor that you do have thrush as the symptoms can be very similar to other conditions.

1. Does My Website Have To Be Accessible in 2008?

You do have a responsibility at some level, whether or not you are the designer or the commissioner of the website, to ensure your website design does not discriminate against disabled visitors to your site.

2. So what happens if your website design is not accessible?

Unsurprisingly, you leave yourself open to criticism, bad press and and more seriously legal action if your site is not accessible.

3. What level of compliance should your website design meet?

No case has been brought to court in the United Kingdom to date, so there is no case law guidance. In any event, case law can only provide broad guidance – what websites have to do may vary from site to site. What is important, however, is the outcome: the DDA requires that you make what it refers to as “reasonable adjustments”, to your services to ensure that a person with a disability can access that service. This means making changes to websites – which offer 24 hour service, and a variety of features not available via, for example, a telephone service – so that disabled people can use them.

4. Web Accessibility Opinion

Basically, you need to make sure your site is built to W3C standards for good website design. That means valid html and valid css. It means passing Priority 1 W3C WCAG (Google it!) at least. It means well formed website code (i.e. without errors) and simple and correct use of technologies. Actually – this is fairly simple to do for an experienced web designer – do not accept that you need to pay more for accessible web design – it should come as standard, part of good practice web design. You could go one step further and ask “vision impaired” testers to test drive the site. Finally, you need to listen to your web site visitors. If someone contacts you about the inaccessibility of your web site – then fix it!

There’s a business case and moral obligation to make your site as accessible as you can. There are over 8 Million people registered as having a disability in the UK, and a lot of them use the net – do you really want to ignore them? Prosecutions have been successful in Australia and the US – it will happen in the UK, just not any time soon – so don’t worry too much about prosecution – and don’t listen to the snake oil salesman who want your hard earned cash for total website redevelopment!

There are many foods that you need to be aware of that are laden with cholesterol. It is important that you are aware of the many types of foods for the sake of your family’s health.

A List of Cholesterol Laden Foods

Interesting enough, a sheep or beef brain is on the top of the list for the most cholesterol in foods. Makes you wanna run out and buy a couple, eh? Well, rest assured I won’t be anytime soon!! That is for sure.

Next on the list is fish oil. While there are many good attributes for it, there are also precautions that you must know about. Fish oil has a lot of cholesterol.

Chicken liver anyone? – Well, coming in as number three on the list is tasty chicken liver. I think that I will pass on this one as well. I am sure that many of us will.

Raw eggs (especially the yolk) – I am sure that there are many people out there who love the incredible edible egg, right? Yeah, I do but it doesn’t like us so we need to eat them in moderation.

Beef bi-products – Liver or tongues anyone? Nah, I didn’t think so. There are many people who like to fry up a batch now and again. If the grease isn’t bad enough, then eat some bi-products to add more to your already high cholesterol.

Canned crustaceans? – Uhm you mean as in shrimp and fish? I don’t think so. There are many that you think in your mind are very good for you. So since they are ‘good’ for you, you decide to go ahead and fry them; making them better? I sincerely doubt it. They are still high in cholesterol.

Fast foods – Well, this is definitely a no-brainer (to say the least). Uhm, maybe or maybe not, who knows. Maybe you didn’t know that those morning biscuits and sausage were loaded with all the fattening grease? Perhaps you don’t think about it while driving down the road on your way to work? Who knows, but now you do.

Pork anyone? – Did you know that pork is high in fat and cholesterol already. They are some of the nastiest animals and eat just about anything. They are full of cholesterol and sadly enough, many people fry them in grease.

There are many types of food that are loaded with cholesterol. We can choose to be knowledgeable in what we do or we can continue feeding our bodies junk. The choice is yours!
